Teaching, Training & Mentoring

As well as leading informal learning initiatives my experience includes formal teaching, training and mentoring. In partnership with Photoworks and School of Media at University of Brighton I lead a semester-long, 20 credit module called Photography in the Community. This offers level 5 students an opportunity to gain skills and experience in public engagement practice. Students are allocated practical placements, their learning underpinned by contextual study.

Cultural organisations, educational institutions, trusts and charities commission me to develop and deliver Arts Award accredited training and mentoring programmes. This has included supporting young professionals entering the cultural sector through the Young People’s Skills Programme at London Transport Museum and improving young people’s skills and confidence through the Get Started Programme at The Prince’s Trust. Arts Award accredited Photography programmes have also been developed in partnership with Outreach and Widening Participation teams with the aim of improving access to higher education.

I also have experience of delivering professional development to both trainee and qualified teachers through practical training sessions.

Previous clients include: London Transport Museum, University of Brighton, Greater Brighton Metropolitan Collage, Prince’s Trust, Photoworks and Towner Gallery.
